The single most addicting game I’ve ever played. Occupies my brain at every moment. Who knew the world needed a poker roguelike
Endless fun even for an absolute clod like me who sucks at poker. So much fun to line up combos and gather buffs and multipliers and watch the funny big numbers fly, all while feeling like a god. I will lose many hours to this; it’s the perfect chill time vampire. Balatro only strove to achieve something simple yet that’s all it needed to do. Easy to start, complex yet approachable, absolutely addicting. The execution of the poker roguelike was done perfectly and I absolutely love stacking different jokers and changing my playstyle every run. Cannot wait for the new content coming next year!
I’m seriously struggling to find faults about this game lol. If I were to grasp at straws, the touch controls on Switch can lead to misclicks due to the small areas to actually touch. Also, an “are you sure” option before the unlock everything button would have been appreciated. My toddler-ass brain tapped it without thinking. If i am to really scratch the bottom of the barrel, maybe maintain a default selected stake for each deck even if you scroll to another deck that you haven’t completed on higher difficulty. I’ve accidentally done a full run on white stake for a deck where I meant to do a higher one simply due to the fact I scrolled to a deck I haven’t beaten yet.
